Dr. Goodhart's Home Remedy

Dr. Goodhart's Home Remedy has been playing their special brand of music for audiences of all ages since 1982.  A typical performance will take the audience on a magical trip that transcends time and space. The Remedy takes you on a musical journey through America's musical heritage as well as other cultures to experience folk and roots music in its many forms. The group is well versed in many musical styles including: Swing, Jazz, Blues, Celtic, Cajun, Appalachian, Gospel, Bluegrass, Gypsy, Ethnic styles and original tunes.  Dr. Goodhart himself regularly inspires audiences with his special brand of humor as he embarks on a patter that is reminiscent of an old time medicine show. The other band members supply the necessary spice of musicianship and professionalism. Dr. Goodhart has thrilled young and old audiences alike and will revive your senses as well as maybe even sell you a bottle of their famous, patent pending, all natural, Dr. Goodhart's Home Remedy tonic. Dr. Goodhart’s Home Remedy is Northern Michigan’s oldest and most highly regarding roots music band.

Jim Gillespie - Mandolin, Fiddle, Guitar and Vocals
Jim is the Dr. in Dr. Goodhart's Home Remedy and is a founding member and musical director of the group.  He  has been active as a musician and performer for over 35 years. He is also the founder and the director of the local folk and roots cultural arts organization called the Blissfest Music Organization which formed in 1981. 
 Bob Schneider- Guitars, Lap Steel, Bass and vocals
Bob is a talented multi-instrumentalist who has been active in many bands and interested in roots and folk music for over 30 years. He has been playing with Dr. Goodhart for over 5years.
